Other Names : Indian red eggplant, Red eggplant, Red square.
Plant Notes : Hardy attractive plant. Can grow in full sun, or part shade. Highly attractive, bright red fruit. The fruit transitions from green, through to yellow, orange then red during the ripening process. Edible Fruit - not as tasty as the aubergine or purple fruit (and sometimes a little more seedy). Salt treatment works well. Tastes great roasted and chargrilled.
As with all eggplants, the plant will grow best in well drained soil, rich in organic matter, with access to a full spectrum of trace elements for best fruiting.
